Who I am.

Just a little bit about me.

So, I'm not the most entertaining of people. I'd say my life is pretty boring. But one of my favorite parts of following a blog is feeling like I really know the blogger! So, here's my life in a nut shell.

The reason this blog is called "A Splendid Mess" is because that's what I consider myself. I'm a mess. I'm disorganized, clumsy, OCD, lazy, awkward, clingy, insecure, introverted in groups, yet way too loud one-on-one.... I'm flawed. But that's okay with me. God made me exactly how I'm supposed to be, and just recently have I been able to realize this. I used to think that it was bad that I wasn't perfect; that I wasn't good enough for God, or anyone else. But now I see that each and every one of us is a mess, each in our own way. And that's a good thing, because if we weren't all falling apart, we would never have that splendid feeling of being put back together.

I was born in 1996, and have been homeschooled all my life. I love my parents for homeschooling me... I've never been to a public/private school, and I wouldn't want to. I like things how they are.
I have a family that I love, consisting of a mom, a dad, a younger (but much bigger) brother, an older sister, and a rather fat dachshund named snickers.

I'm really passionate of about 3 things:
God, Soccer, and Art (In many shapes and forms!)

I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior when I was 11 years old. Since then, I have attended numerous WorldChangers/MissionServe projects, all of which have been amazing. At these mission trips, we're assigned to a crew, and we spend a week fixing a house for someone who needs it.
This is a picture of me, my crew, and my homeowners from a mission trip to MO in 2012:
As previously stated, I am very passionate about my faith, and would love to share with you if you have the time. Just ask.

I have played competitive soccer since 8th grade, and our team has made it to the Championship of the State Tournament twice. I love my team like they're my family. Each and every girl on the "Conquerors" is talented, skilled, and unique in a million different ways! This is a team picture taken at the State Tournament in May, 2012: (I'm number 17. And yes, I'm looking a little unattractive, considering I had just acquired a black eye and a mild concussion.)

And finally, my passion for art:
I love so many forms of art! Music, photography, pencil drawing, writing, painting...the list goes on.
I am self-taught (therefore, not very good) at piano and guitar. I have a small, amateur photogrpahy business called "Bright Eyes Photography."They make me happy, and they help pass time. I've entered 30+ photos in photography contests and exhibits, and have won 60+ ribbons/awards. I've just recently learned that I enjoy cooking and baking!  I draw, paint, and write as a hobby. I love words. One of my favorite quotes is from Eleanor Roosevelt.
"You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You must do the thing which you think you cannot do."
That's about it. Like I said, I'm not very entertaining. But I hope this has helped you get to know me! I hope you enjoy my blog! :)
